Qinghai-Tibet networking project is the highest elevation, alpine areas of the construction of the largest transmission project so far in the world, it is to meet the Qaidam circular economy pilot area with the power demand and electricity services Qinghai economic and social development of key projects, it will fundamentally solve a shortage of electricity in Tibet problem. Through this project, it will achieve the Tibet power grid and the northwest power grid interconnection, for the first time the national grid companies operating in the region in all the provinces of networking, to further improve the grid resource optimizes configuration ability, the western region to promote the transformation of resource advantages into economic advantages, to achieve better and faster development.

Qinghai-Tibet networking project, 750 kV AC power transmission project will build 750 kilovolt Xining substation (extension), Riyue mountain substation, Ulan switch station, Golmud substation and 736.2 km double circuit lines on the same tower. + 400 kV DC transmission project will be the construction of Golmud and Lhasa station and 1038 km line, the current and long-term transport power respectively, 60 million kilowatts, 120 million kilowatts. The project along the highest elevation is 5300 meters, 4000 meters above sea level accounted for 87%, the construction environment is extremely complex, the construction task is extremely difficult.
